I love these. I'm not drinking......excceeeepppt for these two times where I can't be expected to be sober. Me and God talked it out and those two dates are cool.

Fair enough, but no one is going to hell because they ate a turkey sandwich on a Friday during Lent. The whole point of the fasting/abstinence from meat is more symbolic in nature. Which is why earlier, I said giving up things for lent is for 5 year olds; as a way to teach them about making sacrifices
yeah and I agree with you. I never give up shite for lent and I eat meat whenever I want. I sacrifice for my family and give to the church and charities all year long. Not going to try and be "better" for 40 days. shite is ridiculous.

Just giving you shite. It's the OT

Nothing, because I don't need to sacrifice sweets to validate my relationship with God.

So you guys are saying if I don't give up extramarital sex for lent I can still get into heaven?

And a diamond ring doesn't make you love your wife any more than without it, but try taking it away and she'll leave your arse. Same thing with God and sweets.

I look at it as an opportunity to simplify things. Get back to the basics, if you will. If that means cleaning up my diet, or limiting my time on social media, fine. But the idea isn't to go right back to where you were 40 days prior.
