Eagle River is nice, that's where I lived when I was up there. It is kinda like Anchorage's Mandeville. Get ready for a culture shock lol. Some end up like Roger and some end up like me and never want to see that hellhole again. The scenery no matter how pretty it looks fades to background eventually.

Certain kinds of mace/pepper spray used to be not allowed into Canada. I don't remember all the particulars, but they tried to confiscate my bear spray because there wasnt a picture of a bear on the canister! That stuff was $40 or $50, so after I begged for a while, they eventually let me keep it.
