believe astral projection is an intentional act/wish/desire to leave the body
I've done it a few times, some by accident , some by Will as a defense mechanism.
You have Netflix? Check out documentary called "The Nightmare".
It's fascinating

I've read about Quantum Entanglement, but I honest don't quite understand it.
Welcome to the club. You are not alone, in fact there is no one who "understands" quantum entanglement.
Entanglement appearsto demonstrate faster than light communication between pairs of particles (of their respective spin). This is seen as a violation of special relativity by some, or "spooky action at a distance" as Einstein put it.
Personally I think that matter is not bound to the XYZ+T dimensions we perceive, and entanglement may be a manifestation of connection through a dimension we do not perceive.
Think of a drafting compass drawing two points on a piece of paper:
The movement and actions of one point are dependent on the other and will instantly change regardless of their separation on the page. If your perception is limited to the flat pane of the page upon which they are drawn, you too might call this "spooky action at a distance". But since you can perceive 3 dimensions, not 2, then the explanation is perfectly obvious.

You did a good job of explaining it. Are you a physicist?

My mom swore she had the ability to do this and had done it several times when I was a child. She said each time she did it it was harder for her to get back into her body. So much so that she was fearful to try again. She never took drugs or drank and was a very practical and sensible person. I never really believed her but who knows?

To sum it up, its crossing from the conscience world into the subconscious world.
Your conscious suppresses your subconscious, and for good reason. Your subconscious sees and interacts with some bizarre shite that hangs out in there. The conscious part of your being will not allow you to see those things.
Hypnosis is one way of crossing over - so long as you come back.

The sad thing is you can never be 100% sure.

What if she never came back?

Count, you should provide serious answers more often.

No. I am interested in the subject and watch lots of youtube videos on it

Or something either going on with elementary particles (of which we're at, maybe a 1st grade understanding of - as a species - if that) or the quantum vacuum, which we cannot readily observe.
Fascinating topic, although way above my pay grade from a physics standpoint.
(ETA: And Goldberg doesn't know anything about physics. He's a poor man's L. Ron Hubbard.)

Found the nut. His name is Andrew D. Basiago

I've started listening to Dr. Bruce Goldberg's workshop on astral travel and communication with the Fifth Dimension. He talks about white holes, black holes and worm holes and parallel selves.
How does this fit in with Einstein's theories on time travel?
Dr. Greenberg says we all have a parallel self, another person who is physicially not us with with whom we share a kindred soul.
This workshop is very cool. I would recommend it for anyone interested in physics and/or spiritual travel.

edit: I have a degree in physics and work in a physics-related health profession

but all I did was go to sleep and it happened automatically...til I was about 9, then they seemed to stop. but I do recall doing it again as a grown man, but again, not intentionally, it just happened! was in my 50's...can't tell you anymore than that about it.
As you aged towards puberty, Fluoride in drinking water hardened your pineal gland and reduced it's effectiveness in your dreams. There's no doubt younger people have more vivid dreams, nor is there a clear explanation.

I took astral projection classes when I was 17. It was a 12 week online course.
To this day I have alternate lives in my dreams and as of this year since I quit drugs 100% and got my focus back I started having actual memories within my alternate dream selves. This has been shocking to me. I actually remember stuff within my current dream universe and recall memories from that universe when I dream now.
I'm gonna check this out for sure.
I've had over the years experiences that I cannot explain involving very vivid dreams in which I'm floating around my bedroom or house. It usually starts with me being aware I'm sleeping but not awake and a loud buzzing sound coupled with strong vibrations. I seem to have some kind of control over it and if I concentrate these vibration push me out of my body.
I'm skeptic about most of this astral projection stuff but these experiences leave me dumbfounded. Are any of your experiences similar?
