you see, if he would have just fell down and landed on the ball, that wouldn't have looked as cool

so he jumped back in an attempt to dive for the ball and strip it away from the defender so that it looked cooler

that Cam...always thinking ahead

Bottom line. Elite QBs don't crumble like he did. That lack of effort will forever be remembered.

Tom Brady? Aaron Rodgers? Joe Flacco? All crumbled due to Denver's defense this year.

After thorough review of the fumble gif Ive changed my mind. I don't think Cam pussed out but I think rather he was too close to the ball to dive. Once he had a better angle on it he dove in there and tried to get it back.

oh my

He was running toward the loose football, he realized he was too close to it when (you can see his lead foot is right next to the ball when he planted it), hopped to his left and dropped into the pile to go after the ball.

If he was afraid why run toward the lose ball to begin with?

We are used to most players hurling themselves towards lose balls and takes but I don't think that is a QB's instinct so I can see why Cam would be more particular about where he dove on the ball.

For the record Im not a Panthers or Cam fan. Just trying to make the right call.

We all knew how fake he was and that the real Cam Newton would appear once some adversity hit him. Poor body language, giving up on the team, walking out on his press conference... all of it. He claims that he's having fun because it's just a game, but it's all fun when you're winning. We see the real you when things don't go your way.

If you've watched football for the last couple of years, you'd know this is exactly how he acts when faced with adversity. I wasn't surprised at all.

You failed. Cam completely bitched out on that fumble. It's indefensible.

This is a fairy tale you've concocted in your mind.

He had a terrible night, completely by his own doing. It is what it is. Stop making excuses. He sucked.

And far be it from me to defend Cam - I just don't like the guy. He turned in a great, MVP-worthy season and I'm not going to take away from that.

But - he is not a dominant QB. He is a one-of-a-kind athlete who plays the position well enough to make a difference for his team and earn the league MVP.

He was exposed yesterday by the best defense in the NFL - he doesn't have to play them every week though. And, I will say this - I have a suspicion that he was "nicked" to borrow Miles' term of art. He didn't move like he normally does and made very few plays with his feet down the stretch.

But, losing the football game wasn't the problem. The way he comported himself in the loss speaks volumes about his character. He is not a person, IMHO, who can be relied upon in a true crisis or time of adversity. We'll see how he and the panthers bounce back, but it doesn't look good so far.

And Cam isn't a kid anymore. He's a grown arse man. To sulk around like a 14-year old - strike that, I've seen 14 and 15 year olds handle a loss better. For such a big, strong player, he looked awfully small yesterday in the loss.

...

Are aware of what you just typed? He was exposed by the best defense in the NFL, huh? You don't say? The same defense that held Aaron Rodgers to the worst game of his career? The one that had Tom Brady running from shadows? What did you expect?

I don't think you're going to find many people agreeing with your statement about his receivers being great, no matter if they hate him or not.

If he pulled up and never went for it I'd agree but its pretty clear he pulled up to change his direction on it. So you're saying he bitched out and then decided not to bitch out a split second later when he did go for the ball?

So those 2 cats sulked around like little bitches with skinned knees after the loss?

I didn't think so.

maybe the "best" player in the league to expose the best defense?

or are you saying that everyone knew Denver's D would shut down Cam?
