It never made sense to me. It's supposed to be catholic based yet they have wild parties and worship false Roman and mythical godss in the parades...God teaches temperance and moderation yet Mardi Gras seems to promote drunken debouchary and sexual immorality. It just never made sense to me.

Catholics don't call it "Mardi Gras", they call it Good Friday. It's two totally different holidays and it shows a complete lack of understanding when people confuse the two.
