Bertman not contacted

Skip Bertman was called by a reporter from Nebraska and says he had no idea anyone was coming to interview Pelini because nobody asked permission.
Lincoln Journal Star
Coincidence?
A private plane, a Cessna Citation CJ3 (twin-jet), left Lincoln Municipal Airport at 1:14 Sunday afternoon.
It's supposed to arrive in Baton Rouge at 3:19.
The plane is owned by Norfolk Iron and Metal, a company out of Nebraska.
Dick Robinson, president of Norfolk Iron and Metal, declined comment Sunday as to why the plane was headed to Baton Rouge.
"We have a policy that we don't reveal that type of information," said Robinson, a substantial booster to the athletic program.
In 2006, Robinson was presented with the Clarence Swanson Memorial Award.
The award honors a person "for outstanding contributions to the University of Nebraska and the Husker athletic department."
When told of the flight, LSU athletic director Skip Bertman said: "Are you kidding me?"
Bertman said nobody has contacted him regarding LSU's defensive coordinator Bo Pelini, considered a lead candidate for the Husker head coaching job.
"I don't think Tom Osborne would do it any other way," Bertman said.
However, "It's probably not absolutely, positively mandatory for an assistant. I don't suppose he felt he had to contact me, I guess."
This comes a day after three sources told the Journal Star a private search firm had contacted Pelini about the Husker job.
Saturday, a source close to Pelini said the former Husker assistant was in the process of trying to arrange time for an interview with NU officials.

Skip would lie and don't think for one second he wouldn't.

nope.
just going by his past comments and what actually happened.
Just saying don't think he would like. He's done it before.

Why the secrecy? Its not like the first time a coaching search has ever been conducted and people knew about it.

Where did skip go to college? LSU

I think he went to Miami. I might be wrong though, that may have just been one of his first coaching stops.

Asking Skip to give permission to interview one of his coaches is just a formality or courtesy at best. They are not breaking any laws or rules. Pillini may just be talking to their headhunter. Thus not formally talking to Neb.

Smoke and the 100,000 when Smoke was hired. We weren't told that Skip had a pecuniery interest in the hire.
Then there were the black poles on campus. said it was for the oaks. then later in season he admitted to a reporter it was to sell more parking passes. and those are just two exampled off of the top of my head.

Yes, he would lie. I've had numerous dealings with him when he was coaching baseball. Ask Brett Laxton next time you see him if Bertman lies!! Bertman told 3 different scouts that he didn't pitch well in cold weather and he went undrafted.
Yes, Skip went to Miami, his wife Sandra went to Florida.
