Not saying you're wrong about AD's looks and Gentry's performance as coach here, and the shot data is a little wonky...

But according to NBA stats, he's taking 43% of his shots either OPEN or WIDE OPEN this season v 39% last year. He's shooting about 5% worse on OPEN shots this year than last (44 v 49) and 3% worse on WIDE OPEN (51 v 54).

The bulk of his shots both this year and last come while guarded TIGHT (36% v 38%). But same trend with shooting (52% this year v 57% last).

Shot types are roughly the same- 40% MID Range, 34% RA this season v 45% MID, 39% RA.

Questions here are how much of this slip is offense design, how much is playing minutes every game with Gee/Asik and now Cole, how much is increased defensive attention, taking more 3s, and plenty of others.
