Even if the kid wasn't "fricked up" but a stupid child, he sure will be when he gets out of being instituonalized.
I don't even know where you begin with these situations.

Then why fricking bother? If the point of prison is rehabilitation, then life in prison shouldn't exist.
If you are in jail for a minor enough offense, then the object of your time in prison should be to train you with marketable skills and striving to make you a productive member of society once you've been rehabilitated.
If rehabilitation isn't an option then for everyone's benefit you should be hanged from the neck until dead and no more money spent on you.
It's ludicrous otherwise. Why rehabilitate people who won't ever be free?

I want to know who down voted this. The kid was 11. I hit puberty at that age. He knows the ramifications of shooting someone with a shotgun. I'd say there's almost a 99% certainty that he will kill again if he's let out of prison. He should rot for the safety of the public at the very least.
