I wonder how this will work with "on Demand" services as well. Companies like Cox will probably require you to use their equipment to access non-live content.

Exactly this. They will make up the costs elsewhere. Until a la carte cable is the norm, we're all getting shafted anyway.

Cox laughs at $10. Now they'll claim they can hardly break even. Subscriptions up $50 bc they can still hardly eat.

The cable TV bubble is going to pop very soon. More and more people are dropping overpriced cable plans and switching to streaming.
