To say they can free up the cap space is accurate, but extremely difficult. They would need to:

1) Trade AI's 11.1 mill salary into cap space (not take any contracts back.
2) Stretch Bogut (or trade him into space) and Thompson (or trade him into space)
3) Renounce Barnes
4) Release all other FAs cap holds

Am I the only one who thinks this is a bad idea? Lets assume the Warriors break the 72-10 record and win a second consecutive championship...at that point, why would they need to bring in somebody like Durant? In my view, the only thing that could happen is to mess up the team chemistry. They all fit together so well as it is, I don't think bringing in another player who needs the ball in his hands fits their system. At some point, you get to a point where you have too much talent.

Doesn't seem all that difficult, could probably find someone to take bogut for next year. Would still be retaining Livingston and Ezeli as long as he resigns after.

KD will sign a 1yr deal this off season to align his contract with RW and Serge. This will also make him an UFA when the salary cap jumps up to $110 million with a luxury tax threshold of $127 million in 2017

At that point KD/RW/Serge can decide to stay in OKC or go someplace else as a package deal or move independently
