SO maybe the thought process is use our #1 on a quality replacement for Gordon (Unless we strike gold and win the Lotto).

Yes, unless you win the lottery there should be several good guards available to put next to Jrue if we have a top 10 pick.

This is where it gets tricky, most teams would see Ryno as a rental so they'll probably not be willing to give up as much as what we feel he's worth. While I don't think resigning Ryno would be disastrous, I would rather turn him into a pick or wing prospect. I doubt we'd be able to get both, and then there's also the fact that the team will still be trying to make the playoffs and trading Ryno for future assets doesn't fit that goal.

move Asik for whatever and cruise the 2nd tier for a Center more to the Gentry system?

I think we're going to be stuck with Asik at least one more year. You were never going to do much in FA this offseason anyway so his contract isn't a problem yet, and he's playing well enough now that he's gotten back into shape that he can fill that role. But long term yes, I think you can get away with a much cheaper option at center and dump Asik as soon as you need the cap space or can move him without losing an asset.

Not an Asik fan. Don't like his contract. With that said, he has been playing much better the last two weeks...fingers crossed that this continues...

More like creative.

People need to realize "solid SF + pick" ain't happening for Anderson. Also need to start thinking about what his cap space will actually be able to fetch this summer.

Why is this the case? I thought the past 4 years we've been waiting for this offseason when Gordon comes off the books so we could have the $$ to try to attract quality players, or player. I don't understand why, Again, the Pels aren't in a position to make real movies in FA.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but IMO once Gordon's $15M is off the books we really have no "BAD" contracts holding us back. Yea Asik and Evans maybe aren't optimal, but nothing like the albatross of Gordon's max deal hell.
