I think people need to realize there is no quick fix to this situation. The only way we're likely to be more talented next year is if we hit on the draft pick(s). If we don't make too many new long term commitments then 2017 will be when the combination of cap space and player movement will be right for us to improve the talent level.

The 8 seed is currently 4 games under .500 and the 7 seed is at .500. The whole dynamic of the WC could be flipped going into next season, too - Durant's a FA, Dallas has decisions to make, HOU needs to retool their roster, Memphis could lose Conley. All of those middling teams are vulnerable. You have the teams grouped in with us with no real direction.

If the playoffs is what everyone is content with, you can conceivably be right there next year with ~60% roster turnover.
