think a talking point on that is, generally speaking, is when white people use their own sensibilities and then seem to not having any understanding whatsoever as to why "other cultures" may process things differently

Processing things differently is fine, but I'd like to think people could agree that race is such a lazy way to excuse why things are the way they are.

For example, there is a high correlation between race and education level completed. If you stopped right there you'd fail to see that there is an even higher correlation between socioeconomic status and education completed. Obviously education is a more complex issue than basketball or acting, but my point remains.

I'm not going to get into white privilege because I think alot of that stuff is ridiculous, but I can say I consider myself blessed to have been raised in such a way that I look inward for what went wrong rather than outward for someone to blame. That approach manifest itself even with something as trivial as the OP - my first inclination is that white players should have performed better, not that deserving white players were overlooked for black players.

That approach isn't exclusive to white people by any means, but outside of a few sarcastic comments, the lack of any outrage over this provides some anecdotal evidence that most people see this as a merit issue, not a race issue. I'd like to think that could become a more universal approach to things like this.

tl;Dr - Downvoting myself for being this serious on the MSB.

exactly. because it is a merit issue, not a race issue. just like the fact that there aren't enough black quarterbacks or whatever (pick any of these types of debates) was a merit issue and not a race issue. the problem comes when idiots don't see it that way.

Again though, while there are certainly times it is an excuse, sometimes it is an actual explanation. My issue is with both sides. One side uses it as an excuse, and the other side will always say they're using it as an excuse even when it may be obviously so. Both of those sides suck, pretty simply put.

But would you do the same if you've experienced a shite ton of negative exmaples throughout your life solely because of your race?

I certainly agree obviously. I agree with your overall premise, I'm just saying the lack of understanding as to why it's not nearly as easy for the minority cultures to see things this way 100% of the time is just being naive(not saying you specifically have done that)
