LHSAA Split also approved for baseball,basketball, and softball. Like football.

Made football officially retroactive from 3 years ago

Now the push to split all sports

@JeritRoser: Many principal Norman Booker says he thinks having split for baseball/basketball/softball not begin until next school year may be best move.

@JeritRoser: Select/nonselect split for baseball, basketball, softball, effective 2016-17 school year ... passes, 182-120.

Things will continue on as they are now. It was unconstitutional how they did it 3 years ago but the executive committee voted to make it legal retroactively. Kind of how Obama does things.

To clarify:

All this does was make a split "legal".

Principals still have to vote Friday in which they can either continue the same system we have now or agree to change the system.

As much as it sucks, I think a split in all team sports is coming. Bonine is not going to win the numbers game against all these public school principals.

Yep, reading between the lines the new head went this "unconstitutional" route once it was proposed to split all sports. He was trying to keep that from happening but he can't stop the train.

Sadly I believe you are correct.

Once this happens there really is no reason for private schools to stay in the LHSAA. Will be very interesting to see how it plays out if this happens.

Kick all the private schools out that have less than 1,000 students... if you have more you're allowed to stay...

Just look at where Louisiana ranks in public education in the country and then ask yourself if you should have expected anything different than this backwards arse decision from those in charge of the education.
