I really haven't followed the NBA too closely since the 90's. However, I'll occasionally catch a quarter of basketball on a Friday night or catch a few highlights. Obviously, Golden State's record speaks for itself (41-4). They are just mauling teams as well. Steph Curry looks like he's playing in video game mode as well. He just casually flips the ball so effortless into the air and...swish.

My question is where does this team and Curry boil down to all-time greatness? I believe the '95-'96 Chicago Bulls set the record of all-time wins (72-10). It isn't far fetched that Golden State can top that. Is this team a lock for another NBA title? Is this team, arguably, the best of all-time? What about Curry? I'm not saying he's a better player than Jordan, Isiah Thomas, Magic, etc...but where do you see him ranking? Is he arguably an all-time great shooter/scorer? I mean, he's putting up 37 points and chilling on the bench in the 4th quarter....

The have the same record through 45 as that Bulls team. I think they break the record. As far as Curry, there is no arguably about it. He is the best shooter ever. There was a thread on TigerRant asking if Pistol Pete was better

Steph Curry will go down as the best shooter in NBA history.

If they win at least 67 games again on their way to back to back titles, they have to be considered a top 5 team ever. If they win 70 they'll be right up there with the Bulls.

Nothing like this is a lock, but if fully healthy, it's as close to a lock as you will likely ever see.

If they finish the season the same way they started, it's a reasonable argument.

He is on pace for the best season I have ever seen in 40 years. He still has to perform at a high level for several more years before his career is in the conversation with the all time greats.

I was like you...I got turned back in to the NBA last season by watching GS play. Not just the fact that they were winning, but the style of play...

Yeah...they're VERY VERY good. Hard to say how they'd stack up against the teams from the 80's and 90's that were bigger and usually featured a dominant big man inside, but no team has ever played the outside game like this. It's almost like watching a professional version of the early 90's Loyola-Marymount offenses but with much better shooters...AND when they drop back on D they actually bother to guard guys and play that side of the floor.

If you're looking for a way back into enjoying the NBA, this is where you start I think.

overrated team. They just shoot a ton of 3s. Once playoffs start the spurs will kick into gear and shut that shite down, and pound them in the post. Curry is overrated as frick too. Just shoots 3s, cant do anything else. Leonard will lock him down and its over.

as far as best TEAM ever, i don't think there's really any question, and i say that a a huge 90's Bulls/MJ fan... what GS is doing is amazing... they are destroying the supposed best teams in the league....

and as far as i've ever seen (been watching the NBA since i was 5 in 1987), Curry is the best shooter i've ever seen.... only person close was MJ when he was in the zone or it was clutch time... but at this point, i'm more surprised when Curry misses 40 ft. shots than when he hits them, and that's insane...

and i say all this as someone that hates GS.... i just don't like them... dunno why really, i guess its draymond green's fault, but i really don't like them...

Unfortunately for them they will have to follow up that 73-9 record with a +80% record en route to a championship. That Bulls team went 15-3 in the playoffs so unless they smash the regular season record they are going to have to keep up with that pace in the playoffs to go down as the best ever.
