About that time, DNA was developed to determine race. They knew he was black, according to a guarded source, but was reluctant to release that info for some reason.

My Uncle caught him. He was a special investigator for the Governors office. He had suspected him from information he had from an earlier investigation. There are several books on it.

Because an FBI profiler came here and told the BRPD, who was not the only agency that screwed this up; that there had never been a black serial killer.

Also, I think BRPD was aware that there were two or more killers at the time. I can remember the Advocate story showing the pictures on the front page. I think the number was close to 19 unsolved female homicides.

What is really irritating, is that there have been multiple cases that the FBI profilers didn't get correct around here. The DC Sniper case was also a screw-up.

There are most certainly people sitting in Angola now that would be considered serial killers, the guy who worked for Boosie probably has more bodies than some of the most famous ones. They just don't talk about it.

There are still several unsolved cases around BR; as others have said, I wish he would have done a confession to determine the true number.

That was wrong. Did they forget the Atlanta Child killer Wayne Williams?

Can't say I'm sorry to see him go.

DTL worked for a cement company and poured the concrete for my aunt and uncle's pool just a few years before the killing in BR started. My aunt stood in the yard and talked to him while he worked. She was floored when he was arrested.

I moved down the street from where Charlotte Murray Pace was murdered just a few days after she was murdered. I bawled the night before moving because I was so scared.

My best friend lived near Carrie Yoder at the time she was abducted. It was said that he would sit at that distribution building (I think it was owned by The Advocate) and stalk Carrie. I probably crossed paths with him on more than one occasion.

I knew two people that testified about his IQ/sanity at his trial.

Funny story about me from that time: Living in an area he frequented at that time, I always had mace on me. One morning I went out to my car super early so I turned my mace so I could spray someone if they came close to me. I didn't realize at that time that the mace was leaking and when I went back inside I put in my contacts. I woke my roommate up screaming bloody murder because my eyes hurt so bad.

I think at some point or other, must of us crossed paths with this sociopath. I saw the interview last night with Murray's mother. She was utmost distraught. This man was pure evil. How could someone become so evil? In my opinion, he definitely got Eugenie Boisfontaine as well.

Yes. I know for a fact that they do not solve the case. He did, in fact, go to her house. He didnt leave his DNA on all victims. I dont know. I guess we will never know now.

DNA said otherwise.

What I'd like to know is if DTL's appeal to the LA SC was denied months ago, why does it take so long to execute? Why isn't lethal injection done after the appeal to LA SC?

so , during the coverage of lee's death last night.

they said that when Dene locomb was found, they suspected a white man in a white pickup truck.

years later a white man in a white truck killed mickey schunick in the same city.

Wonder if Lavergne was on the prowl back then?

I assume his attorneys were planning an appeal to the US Supreme Court.

One of the OT criminal lawyers can clarify, but I don't think a prisoner can be executed until all avenues of appeal are exhausted - the case has to be refused or heard. Good death row defense attorneys file a multitude of appeals, most of which are desperate attempts (or outright BS) to keep their client alive.

Wow. Actually, he never entered my mind. Good point! He prowled in more places than we will ever know. We know from Scott to Gonzalez.

Well, she had DNA from two different men. DTL didnt always leave his DNA. Look at Mari Ann Fowler, Connie Warner and God knows how many others. You are right; however, I just think different. I. like you, wonder why it took so long. Our wonderful state has been funding him and his pace maker. He makes me sick. He should have been done with many years ago.
