Every chick I have ever known loves Top Gun.
But every chick I have ever known also loves that Hooker movie with Julia Roberts.
If you were alive then, you would remember how huge Top Gun was.
Everyone was talking about it...like when Terminator or Aliens came out. But even greater than those.
Top Gun was the highest grossing film of 1986.
It made more money than Aliens, Platoon, Hoosiers, etc.
The United States Library of Congress selected the film for preservation in the National Film Registry, finding it "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant"
E.T., Raiders of the Lost Ark, Empire Strikes Back, Back to the Future and TOP GUN were the biggest movies of the 1980's.
