If you're of the Geek persuasion, there's a new bar down by Dynamo Stadium called Neil's Bahr. I've heard it's pretty cool.
There a lot of other cool bars that I'd recommend such as Mongoose vs Cobra, Flying Saucer, and Hearsay Gastro Lounge.
If you can go tour Minute Maid Park or NRG Stadium, those places are pretty impressive.
The Museum District has some culture such as the Museum of Natural Science.
Out west in Katy at George Bush Park there's a awesome shooting range if you want to bust some clays or punch holes in paper.
