Well good for LF. He is the first running back from the SEC sine 1949 to win the NCAA rushing title.

Henry played 15 games and Fournette 12. Still can't believe LF was not invited to the Heisman event.

Fournette came in 1st for the rushing title.

So NCAA really goes by yards per game, and not total yards like the NFL?

And that just gets under my skin. Not even invited to the Heisman event. It is really a shame and wrong.

Henry vs fournette
Henry:
25% more games
32% more carries
13% more yards
22% more touchdowns (total)
Fournette leads Henry in all stats per game minus carries per game. He trails by 1
With a better passing attack and arguably better Oline play, henry still averaged almost a whole yard less per carry than fournette.
Alabama brought Henry the heisman, Henry didn't bring the heisman to Alabama IMO
If Scarborough doesn't get hurt in the spring Henry gets no where near 400 carries, or the heisman/rushing record

Leonard Fournette of LSU finished the season as the NCAA rushing champion, the first in LSU history and the first in the SEC since 1949, according to NCAA statistics.
Alabama's Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry was second with 147.9 yards per game and Stanford's Christian McCaffrey was third with 144.2 per game. Henry led the nation in rushing yards with 2,219 and McCaffrey had 2,019.
Fournette became the first Southeastern Conference running back to lead the nation since Ole Miss' John Dottley of Ole Miss had 1,312 rushing yards. The only other SEC player to rank first in the nation Georgia's Frank Sinkwich in 1941 with 1,103 yards.

Still would have beaten everybody if you added the McNeese State game back and gave him -29 yards just for fun.

That just sounds like the best recruiting line there is. God I hate those gumps...

I read that but its a NOLA.com article and I don't see anything nationally mentioning this so Im skeptical.
So Im wondering if this is an LSU homer spin on yds per game or is that typically how its done (nationally)?

Fournette is a beast, but the Heisman voters lost interest when he went for 31 against Bama and then followed that up with only 91 and 108 against Arky and Ole Miss. And those were 3 terrible losses.
All while Henry was going for 200+ and Bama was on a roll.
It's just the way the Heisman is.

As do I...
Once bama has more than 1 capable back again we shouldn't have to worry about the heisman. 400 carries is ridiculous.
