I know in the past les has liked mobile qbs, but since frank has decommitted lsu has gone after pro style.

Russo the Rutgers qb commit 6-4 210 pro style

Pitt qb commit 6'4 215 pro style

Haskins 6'3 pro style

It's stupid that we keep recruiting spread QBs in the first place. It's the greatest WTF this staff has ever done really.

Well they don't exactly use duel threat QBs as such, so seems like a smart move.

Nah, he is definitely dual threat. He runs the option a lot. Had 1000 yards rushing, 2000 passing last season.

The dual threat label is applied to almost any QB that is very mobile. Hell, Patterson is listed as pro style by some but he is definitely a running threat.

The opposition to dual threat quarterbacks here is absurd on its face.

In football, two threats are always better than one, and they're not necessarily mutually exclusive. It's dumb to purposefully avoid a player with more abilities, and it's also dumb not to utilize him appropriately.

That is true but if you don't use one of those threats "at all" basically than why recruit the player. If you are going to recruit the player recruit him and use him for all his talents and assets. Trying to build a player to fit your system is more difficult and takes longer than to polish a player that already plays in a system like your system.

The two labels should be pro-style and spread. Not dual threat, a lot of people on this board think that when a qb is labeled dual threat that all they can do is run the ball which is false.

I enjoyed Harris' 26-yd TD run in the bowl game

we do use our QB's running ability. Maybe not as much as some of you would seem to like but pretty much all of our QB's have had to ability to run and at times did run except for Lee and Mett. Harris running probably could have been used more but he was a threat to run and generally when he did run it was a positive outcome.

I have a few ideas. Let's go with a guy who is:

1. A triple threat; no
2. Quadroooople Threat; nahhh
3. Quintuple Threat.

Hell you're right. Let's go for a guy who poses a "SINGLE THREAT"! That's the ticket!

Actually what everyone thinks when they see dual threat is that the person can't throw and isn't smart. Want a big "playbook qb".

It's an unfortunate conversation that people without football backgrounds get sucked into. Some kids playing in the spread throughout HS are - 4.0 students - who were under center from 6 yrs old until HS.

QB'ing is about aptitude, not whether you stuck your hand under another mans arse or not.

Again, let's start calling the ProStyle guys "SINGLE THREATS" instead. People on these boards don't have a flicking clue.
