You're a moron if you think being a teacher is easy. Particularly in today's schools.

Being a teacher IS easy, being a good one isn't. I look at the people I went to high school with and can't believe they're the ones teaching others. They were almost all idiots.

I never said I thought it was easy. They just seem to complain a lot about ample time off from work.

Is it so much harder in that they need 16+ weeks off during the year vs the average corporate job is 2-3 weeks off?

I'd love to see any one of the idiots who always spurt out the 'teachers are lazy and teaching is easy' bullshite to have to perform the duties of a teacher for one month.

I speak from experience - I was an aerospace engineer for 33 years, a professional photographer for 15 years (10 overlapping) and a teacher for 12 years. If not for all the new red tape and administrative dictates involved, I'd still be teaching - until I died.

At its core, teaching is very rewarding and hard work is constant, but enjoyable.

At its worse, teaching is the most frustrating experience you can endure - especially if your livelihood depends on keeping the job.

Fortunately I had the luxury of saying "screw this shite' when the frustrations became more than I wished to deal with.
