Not going to do a normal SoS breakdown, or a breakdown like I did against Wake. Just giving a few things to keep an eye out for and a few notes.
During the Baylor game on December 6, Vandy lost PF Luke Kornet. Kornet was averaging 10ppg, 6.5 rpg, and 2.8 bpg. To say it has hurt is an understatement. Since then, Vandy is 2-2 with wins against Western Michigan and Wofford and losses at Purdue and home against Dayton.
Center Damian Jones is a native of BR and graduate of Scotlandville High.
Vandy is a troublesome team because they have several players that can score. Besides Baldwin and Jones who is average 15 and 12, no one else averages above 10. However they have 3 others averaging above 8 and another above 6. Jones can hit the mid range jumper, but most everyone else can shoot.
Riley LaChance is my 2nd least favorite player in the SEC (I'm looking at you Alex Caruso).
Without Kornet, Vandy is a much smaller team. Jones is 7' and they have another 7' off the bench, Henderson. However, other than them, no one is above 6'6. And although Henderson will play around 20 minutes, he's a 4 point 2 rebound type of guy. They do have a player Samir Sehic who will play if Henderson or Jones are in foul trouble and the other needs a breather. He's 6'9 250.
My thoughts...LSU has better players and nearly every position except Center. Baldwin is very good, but when Tim WANTS to play, he is better. I am very very hopeful and optimistic that we win...but don't think I can pick us. I think our "team meeting" can lead to big things. Obviously hindsight could be 20/20 later, but I think Ben is gonna shoot 15+ times, which will greatly help us.
Prediction:
LSU - 74
Vandy- 77

Is this guy a Senior yet, seems like he's been at Vandy for 6 years now; or they had a different player from BR

I bet you were the guy who hated on Shane Power and Dane Bradshaw just because they were white. #racist

I just dropped $20 on LSU for the money line, LSU is +375. That's a $75 payout. Its not likely for us to win but that's good odds against a Vandy team that isn't playing great right now.

Expecting the worst hope for the best. Hopefully tq gets his head back on and Keith is feeling it.

Vandy has the third worst FG percentage in the NCAA. Should be an easy team to hold under 90.

any clue on why gray is on the court so much?

Put Simmons on the low post. He draws too much attention down low.. I don't know why he gets the ball at the top of the key so much

Vandy too fundamental at the line..

I'm waiting for Vandy to go zone and put us into a 6 minute drought.
