Coxie is a bit raw, but he's a freak. If he takes care of business academically, he will see the field early. Special teams starter day one. That boy is mean.

Would gladly trade him for Rahshaun Smith or Jean Delance. I don't care how freakish of an athlete he is - we need Front Seven and O-Linemen studs. Every year the ratings are skewed in our direction due to too many skill players and not enough "trench" players. And Alabama kicks our arse.

quote:

Luckily we don't have to "trade" for anything. Getting Davis has no bearing at all on if Smith or Delance end up here. Why such a poor attitude on the possibility of landing a huge stud? This post is stupid.

Post not stupid. Intent was, if had to make a choice, would take Smith or Delance over any WR. (And it's not just those two in particular, there's a long list of guys we could use over a WR: R. Lawrence, E. Oliver, Lyndell Wilson, McCulloch, Stephon Taylor, Briston Guidry, etc.) We need help at DT/DE/LB/OT, not at WR.

What's stupid is we load up on 4 and 5 star WR's but don't use them so their impact is minimal. This inflates our recruiting ranking every year - therefore, expectations are always high - and then everyone wonders why we barely finish in the Top 20 or not at all (last year). What good is it to have six 4-Star receivers that don't have a chance to make 4-Star contributions on the field?

We don't even need to sign a WR this year. Any that we sign is simply a wasted scholarship when compared to what we really need. Until we're able to complete with Bama again in the trenches, all of those skill positions don't matter.

My sources say he is 100% LSU. You can take that to the bank.

If a bank is involved, it means he's going to Ole Miss or Auburn.

Davis met most of the people he loves through sports. In sixth grade, he started playing basketball with a boy named Ben Bernhard, whose father James Bernhard owns a Fortune 500 company in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Soon, he was spending time after school at the Bernhards, and later, when his mother started going through some personal struggles, the Bernhards became his permanent guardians and Davis moved into their home.

He's going to LSU....

While I agree with this, I just love the physical makeup of all the WRs we are likely to get in this class. All are 6'3 or taller, 3 of them are bullies at WR, and the last is smooth like butta.

LSU still has room to lock in 5-6 LBs and 6 DL even with the addition of getting 4 WRs. I did a extremely optimistic outlook yesterday on the class and LSU could go QB, TE, OG, 3 OT, 4 WR, 2-3 DE, 4 DT, 1-2 ILB, 3-4 OLB, 2 S, 3 CB, KR.

The spaces are for guys that can play DE and OLB and the guys that can play OLB and DE. All in all, 15 of the 27 will be on the OL and front 7.

This group of wrs seems to fit the style of LSU's offense perfectly. I expect a couple to get on the field to block and play special teams. It's hard to predict which guys will get true looks at wr, but the physical play of these guys will get them on the field.

Apparently someone read the same article and CB'd him to Ole Mss.

All the talk before the last 2 weeks indicated OM also.

I was surprised when the 100% LSU talk came out.

Same article CB'd Delance to LSU even though he's trending heavily to Texas.

That article is either super secret inside info or very lazy journalism.
