A player that was supposed to be a 1st rounder shouldnt be classified as a steal imo.
It should be classified as a frick up by all 30 teams for not even throwing a 7th round selection at him

Well by definition, it was a steal considering his salary. He's a fricking monster

Yeah, I am convinced something was told to the teams to not draft him.

If he were drafted 7th round and only offered 7th round money he would've sat out. He was already ready to do that when Dallas offered 3rd round money.

It's still a steal regardless of why it was a steal.

eh, not really. I wouldn't have wasted a draft pick on him either with the circumstances surrounding him. It sucked for him, but it was understandable. And regardless, La'el being a UDFA gave him more leverage. He signed a fully guaranteed 1.65 million deal with dallas plus a 21k signing bonus. As a 7th round pick, the average signing bonus is 40k, and their contracts aren't guranteed

I think he and his agent let it be known that he wouldn't sign if he fell that low, knowing they could get more money and dictate the terms of his contract.

Supposedly his agent told all 30 teams that if they tried that then Collins would not sign a deal at all.
