Thoroughly mediocre action movie. I enjoyed it, but jesus people acting like this was some kind of great action movie need to give it a rest.

Crap movie.
I'm seeing Hateful Eight this coming weekend. Still need to see Straight Outta Compton. Have no interest in It Follows. Southpaw looks predictable as can be though.
Glad to see someone else enjoyed Kingsman and Jurassic World.

This year was a shite year for actual good movies. In terms of money-making though, it probably was one of the best

I slacked and I don't think I have even seen 10 movies from 2015, but ex machina was definitely my favorite. I thought jurrassic world, straight out of Compton, and southpaw were terrible. I want to see creed, mad max, the big short, and carol.

The op's list looks like all the crappy stuff that plays at the mall

I didn't see a lot of movies this year, sue me

No Inside Out? Seriously?

All the hype from Mad Max came from critics who went nuts over the fact that it was suppose to be almost all practical effects (which turned out to be nowhere near the truth as it was one of the most CGIed movies of the year) and that there was suppose to be a great heroine in the movie (who was a complete frick-up).
I have a great friend who was geeked up out of his mind for this movie (the first movies he can remember seeing in his youth where the first two Mad Max movies and he's watched each well over 50 times) and even he said it was pretty meh. It's an enjoyable movie and I'm glad I saw it, but I don't see myself ever sitting down and watching it all the way through again.

There are still SO many I haven't seen (Revenant, Hateful Eight, Room, Carol, Straight Outta Compton, Dope, Brooklyn, etc.). And so many that I'm probably forgetting. But. . . here goes.
Definitely subject to change:
1. Spotlight
2. Ex Machina
3. The Big Short
4. Steve Jobs
5. Sicario
6. Bridge of Spies
7. Inside Out
8. Star Wars: The Force Awakens
9. Black Mass
10. Victoria

I wouldn't go so far as to say mediocre, but I agree that all the hype and praise are WAY out of control.

The ten movies I enjoyed the most this year, in no particular order:
Jurassic World
Kingsman
Inside Out
The Force Awakens
Fast 7
Age of Ultron
Ant-Man
M:I 5
Peanuts
Tomorrowland
HM: The Good Dinosaur, Creed (I felt it was too much like Rocky 6), The Wedding Ringer, Vacation, and Minions. I haven't see Black Mass, The Martian (I told my friend what I thought the plot would be before he saw it and he said I pretty much condensed the whole 2 and half hours into a 45 second description of the whole damn thing
) or The Revenant.

I don't expect anyone to agree with me on Ex Machina nor do I care if they do
I heard all of the good things about that movie before I watched it and was like this should be good at worst. Yeah. No. Crap. It was like a thrown together bottle episode of a sci-fi show. So many long empty pauses for no reason. Alicia Vikander is a beautiful woman, but frick me there are hundreds of girls in high school plays around the country that can act better than her.
Eh. maybe calling it crap is too severe, but it definitely was not a good movie at all. Again, I have no expectation of anyone agreeing with me, nor will anyone change my mind on it.

Sp because I enjoy different movies then you that means I'm trolling?

Personally, I would attribute it to bad taste.
But after reading your other posts, I agree with Carson. 1/10 trolling.

You do realize I said those were the movies I enjoyed the most, not ones I said were the best I saw right?
But either way, it takes a lot of self-loathing to hate on someone else's choice in entertainment while not offering up your own list. Just saying

1. It Follows
(It was the only original movie out there)
But Romanticized b.s. biopics, retreads, remakes and CGI dominated.
I'd rather the movie industry make a million more It Follows type of movies - ala Pyscho, etc. than a phucking stupid pointless CGI car crash movie like Mad Max.
I guess it's the debate over whether you enjoy movies simply for visuals...or whether you enjoy movies because they are a film version of books - storytelling.
Does Nascar shock-and-awe satisfy you or do you want a movie to have something to say? Intellect vs. Visual/Auditory.
