Pros and cons of a G3 boat?

Just sold my fiberglass boat and am considering buying a gator tough 1860 model. Anyone have personal experiences with this boat?

BIL has one, seems pleased.

Fished out of one for 5 years, not mine.
1- The steering cable locked up due to rust. While I know they don't make the cable just install it, it was a bitch. I have a small boat and never had any problems in 9 years.
2- The rivets in the floor popped out quite a bit, we replaced a good many.

Didn't know they ever made riveted boats. The new ones are all welded and have no wood in them.

The deck has no rivets? Guess they listened to my posts.
Good luck.
Good luck.

G3 decks I've been on are riveted vinyl. That may be a plus or a minus, depending on your preference. All new ones come with Yamaha motors, so that is a plus. I looked closely at getting one a few years ago and seriously considered it. Didn't get anything at that time because the deal I was hoping to close didn't work out. Oh well.
They are kind of pricey for what you get, so that is a minus. For about the same cost and in a similar style, I had decided to get a SeaArk. Just seemed more tank-like for a production boat.

Sea Arks are jam up if you are leaning that way...
