There's absolutely 0 reason Matt Flynn should even play a snap in these final two games

When they say "In like Flynn" are they talking about Matt?

These last 2 games should be for Grayson to see what he can do!!!!

Would Matt Flynn be the first former LSU Tiger QB to play QB for the Saints? I can't think of one

I'm pretty sure. If he were to start a game, he would definitely be the first LSU QB to ever start for the Saints. That one I'm sure of. Not sure if there are any who have ever seen non-starter action.
Closest thing is Delhomme basically

Agreed
Brees doesn't need to play either. Would be silly.

It amazes me how so many "Tiger fans" turn on former Tiger players.

quote:If Drew Brees is seriously hurt, yes there is. There is no reason to trot out Garrett Grayson at all in these final two games. If you think Grayson was ready to play in the NFL, you think they would have signed Flynn and elevated him to #2 after not knowing this offense in the first place?

Come on, hendo.

We're not making the playoffs. Playing Flynn accomplishes nothing. These last two games should be used to evaluate what we have going forward. Let Grayson get his feet wet. If we lose terribly, who really gives a frick?

Exactly. WTF would we not see if Grayson is going to be the future? If not, start preparing to draft a QB in this coming or by next for sure. We know Flynn can play so give Grayson a chance. No time like the present in a shitastic season. Plus, I'd rather 2 losses and a better draft position.

You seriously think there's no reason to play Grayson? He's our likely future starting QB and we have a 0% chance at making the playoffs. And even if we lose our last games with Grayson at the helm, he gains experience and we get a better draft pick, which we desperately need.

Everyone loves and envies Flynn, but he is not the future of the franchise.

Flynn was made the #2 quarterback because he's a veteran and he's better equipped to step in during the middle of a game. If we're going in with a fresh quarterback for the week, it's pointless to play a career backup that has 0% chance of ever being our permanent starter.
