Grapevine is legit.
Crabmeat stuffed chicken breast is very good buto my favorite is the pecan encrusted fish. Also, turtle soup is pretty good.
Grapevine cafe is easily the best thing about D'ville.
I get the crawfish stuffed chicken breast just about every time, but I agree it is legit! Along with a crawfish cornbread appetizer

No one has said deneauxs(sp) pronounced da-news.... Ooh my gosh... That is the shiznit, the bee's knees.... It's a little meat market type place that only does to go orders and only has lunch plates...
Hell of a recommendation, just picked up a plate lunch and loving it

Don't forget about Cane Row. Little truck stop right off of Hwy 70 that has good plate lunches. Don't think anyone has mentioned it. Hymels is also worth checking out as well. Anything from Grapevine or Burnside Cafe is solid. The Chance is one of those "I eat there for nostalgia" type places. They don't go out of the way to make out of towners feel welcome, solid poboys and hamburger steaks though. Steer clear of the Chinese establishments. Chefs has some solid, artery clogging fried chicken (get the rice dressing and cornbread, fries are awful) and plate lunches. So does Denouxs.

Don't post much but had to chime in here. I work in D'Ville and Grapevine & Denoux's Meat Market are the best by far. Check Denoux's facebook page for daily menus. Open Tues- Fri with prices $7-12 for a plate lunch. If you ever catch the crawfish cornbread, get double sides of it.
Wings N More has the 2nd-3rd best chicken wings I've ever had. Decent burger.
Hot Wok is your standard value Chinese fare. The lunch combos there are large considering most are $4 & change. Very nice people. Chuck Lee's by the bridge when you want a buffet. Again, very nice people.
Chef's for fried chicken hands down.
Minnie's Place on Railroad Ave. Ribs on Thursdays. Do it.
The First & Last Chance is crazy expensive for the portions & quality you get. The hamburger steak is probably the best value. Or whatever they have for the lunch special. Club sandwich ain't bad. Fried chicken is good. Garlic shrimp is good, but for the $18 you pay, you can get pretty much anything at The Grapevine.
