Simmons is not a low post player. He needs to have the ball in his hands every possession and that's not going to happen if we bury him down low. Simmons reminds me of a young Magic who had great ball skills and court awareness but couldn't shoot from the outside.

Simmons can find the open guy, but they have to knock down shots. Someone other than Hornsby has to step up. Simmons needs to be more aggressive and selfish.

Simmons is the prototypical down low player. I dont see why people dont get that.

You proclaim he is a magic johnson type player but he needs to learn to play as the post player of magic johnson and let him create close to the rim.
The fact that he cant shoot consistency outside of 5 feet from the goal, he needs to be the post player that runs the inside out and create in the lane. He is too good of a finisher and passer to not be utilized down low.

You say that Simmons is not a low post player but yet he needs to be more aggressive and selfish. How can he be aggressive when he can't hit a jump shot. The one game we won out of the last five is when Simmons was being a low post player in the half court set and we actually got him the ball.

In the pros Simmons won't be playing post up against the big boys but this isn't them and we can't win with him playing on the perimeter. I will also venture to say that if he doesn't develop a jump shot when he goes pro then he won't be a great pro either.
