If we ve been winning on talent then why does Miles have a higher win % than saban did at lsu? Saban is the best coach of our generation and Mikes isn't a good coach then Saban should surely have a higher win%. Saban walked into a lsu program stacked with future nfl players and some of the best players, at their position, ever.

ban just does a good job getting top out of state guys.

And bama spends 8 times what lsu does on recruiting.

Is this because they have to travel more? Maybe recruit more nationally than we do?

saban had to build a winner...Miles took over a winner

Do you honestly believe that CLM could have followed Dinardo and out program would have had the success it had since Dinardo? if so why? how many programs has CLM built into a powerhouse?

SO............... Saban has proven he can develop players better than Miles.. esp the last two years..... I will ask you ricky...Is LSU on the same level as MSU,Ole Miss, A & M,and Arkie????? If not...Then why do we have the same record or WORSE than these teams the last two years?????

This doesn't make sense. How can the author say we have unreasonable expectations when we are top 5 in talent and recruiting such talent? If you are top 5 in talent then you should be competing for championships on a consistent basis.

your question is not so intelligent...so basically miles inherited everything and nothing was achieved on his own at LSU?

Yes. Georgia is one of the most talent rich states in the country, rt behind cali, Texas and Florida.

not at all...over your head. Maybe you should work on some reading comprehension skills before getting involved in message board discussions.

I don't think you understand what they are actually ranking. It isn't talent or how well the schools recruit.

No. Tuscaloosa is closer to Georgia and Florida. Not much further from North LA than br. Same distance to Mississippi. Further from Houston and only a lil further from Dallas.

Tuscaloosa is rt smack in the middle of sec country. Distance will never be a factor for them.

Les has shown to be a good recruiter wherever he's been. It also helps to hire the rt assistants. Why do you think schools hire guys with ties to LA? To try an poach talent from here. Same reason LSU wants guys that can recruit Texas.

Les signs the papers. Every player that comes through here under him is here because of Les. Yes he gets help, but ultimately the final decision rests on him.

so what are they spending 8x more on recruiting for?

Isn't there a limit to what a school can give to a recruit on a visit (I know we are talking about bama ) but I mean lodging, meals, etc

I mean they have GT

GT runs a triple option.

I mean they have the same rivals next door
That would make them even with LSU.

However, imagine if LSU could recruit from TWO Louisianas:

GA population: 10,097,343
LA population:. . 4,649,676

Georgia has twice the population of Louisiana.

Appropriately, we are ranked ahead of Bama. As I've said numerous times, Bama has no intrinsic advantages over LSU. They've simply made better coaching hires over time (and benefited from rampant cheating under Bryant).

The timid folks who think that LSU is destined to regress to the ambiguous and dread "90s" if we replace our coach really infuriate me. They don't know much about football or the true origins of LSU'S historical underperformance.

Idk, I guess same reason they will have a bigger stipend than LSU if they start paying players.

Maybe their budget is what's allowing them to venture further out to get prospects. Would you rather LSU spend less money just because they can recruit Louisiana? Or do you want LSU to find the best players no matter where they are from?

And I don't think they are spending 8 times more. I've seen where the have spent more than LSU in the past, but never by 8x. That's absurd.
