Just wait until some of the large TAF contributors who wanted miles fired fail to mail their collective contributions to the TAF. I know one, actually 2 of them , and they are on opposite sides of the fence as to GoodOleLess still being here. The problem is not going away, and if we lose another 3 or 4 games next year, you ain't seen nothing yet. And by the way one of the guys I mentioned is my uncle.

lulz
It was a slap in the face.
A lot of people were excited we were getting new blood in the program and when he was retained were fricking pissed.
Like having a present underneath the tree for weeks and Christmas morning your Dad says frick you and throws it away.
To deny that is asinin.

Next season will be brutal among Tiger fans.
For every single incomplete pass, false start or time out, some will say "See - we should have gotten rid of him". Others will crow "See - Keeping him was the right decision" after beating Miss. State or Missouri
Miles is in a horrible spot.
He has ZERO margin for error.
Any little frick up and people are gonna burn him.

Les should retire. He has lost his edge in coaching. Next will be no difference from this year, WAIT TILL NEXT YEAR!

I'm effing tired of mediocrity. I refuse to accept it. Good is the enemy of great. Les needs to be great or be gone.

The only way the fanbase unites is when he is gone.
That won't do it.
The fan base will be divided between:
1. Those who wanted him to stay
2. Those who wished for the new coach
3. Those who wanted a different new coach
4. Those who are perpetually dissatisfied

After LSU wins this bowl game, Miles would have three 10* win seasons in the last four years and six 10 win seasons in the last seven years.
That is a run that is unprecedented in LSU football history, and could only be matched by the elite football coaches throughout the country.
You will never be able to unite the delusional in this fan base with the rational.

Les HAS to beat Bama next year. At the least, LSU needs to make it to the SEC Championship. I would go so far as to make the CFP. I don't think any of it is going to happen fwiw. I have absolutely no faith in Les Miles' ability to accomplish this going forward.

hilarious - we will come out uninspired and shite the bed. How do I know this ? It's what we have done last 6 years ..

What went down this season goes way beyond wins and losses.
To ignore that is delusional.

If we lose 3-4 next year TAF won't have anything to worry about because he'll be gone

Put in your senior year undefeated QB when the offense can not cross mid field in the freaking national championship game! He never gave the team a chance to win.
Forever 21-0.

We could go undefeated for three consecutive seasons and win three straight national championships and this fan base would not be united.

Correct. Some of these guys just want him gone period.
No matter what he can do for LSU in the future.
Natty's or not.

I understand your analogy, but the comparison depends on which side you support. For Miles' supporters, the process was like a Dad letting his child believe there would be no Christmas, then on Christmas Eve, telling he child there is a Christmas and letting the child open his presents.
The bigger issue is how so many continue to bitch and moan now that the decision to keep Miles has been made. It won't change the decision, it makes those whiners look childish and has the potential to negatively impact a potential recruit's view of the program.
While no coach is bigger than the program, no fan or group of fans is bigger than the program. Whether you were a pro-Miles or anti-Miles fan-- the decision is made. Get over it.

I fully admit to being excited about the new direction the program was heading. Then when it didn't happen I crashed.
Same
I'm over it, but I fully expect that we'll be in the exact same spot at this time next year.
What's also irritating is the national perception that the outpouring of sentiment for Miles at the A&M game meant that the majority of those fans wanted Miles to stay.
They thought they were watching him coach his last game in BR and they were showing appreciation for all that he's done for the program, but it's been misinterpreted.
Lots of people believe that the love shown for Les saved his job, not Jimbo giving LSU the Heisman.

No they weren't, they were united for Les. If they were united for LSU they would have been demanding his immediate firing.
