Here's the problem...Les Miles' name isn't Nick Saban. They haven't gotten over him, they can't get over. I had some guy tell me today that he's had season tickets since 1974 and he's decided not to renew them because we didn't fire Les.
fricking Really? This guy made it through Stovall, Archer, Hallman, and Dinardo without a problem but now that we didn't fire a 100+ and NC winning coach he's had enough. fricking seriously. This is the mentality of these geniuses

This is obviously true because Saban picked LSU over the the NFLL.

As the other poster said. He fit the Saban mold. He, at Oklahoma state, like Saban at Michigan state, overachieved at the lesser in-state school. Oklahoma State and Michigan State were not nearly the power houses then that they are now. Perhaps Saban and Miles were the reasons for their comeuppance.

quote:One more thing - maybe if we must devalue and ridicule the 2 loss MNC in '07, we also need to reevaluate the legitimacy of Saban's 2003 MNC, because it was a split title with the AP awarding the #1 status to USC that year, regardless of LSU beating Oklahoma for the Crystal Football. Besides, LSU was a one loss team that year, having lost to Florida. Tainted title.
But for some reason, there's a certain segment of LSU fans that can't apologize quick enough because we won a title with a two loss team.
Please recognize I am not advocating we devalue either title. I am simply astounded by the bitter people calling themselves Tiger fans who do.

Saban ran out on us at the last minute and the pickings were slim?
Les Miles was a GREAT hire! At the time, if someone said that the new coach would win two SEC titles and play for two natties, winning one, and all of this in 10 years, we all would have supported the hire.
Miles' time might be up. Next year will tell the tale. But it was a very good hire.

How can anyone green thumb a motherfricker like this who just shite on our 2007 championship team?
You're a fricking piece of shite. That was our team. That was our championship team. And you denigrate them as a "2 LOSS" team? Go frick yourself.
