I am now of the opinion that a deal was never close and that this may have been nothing more than some rogue boosters stirring up shite and the media jumped on it, combined with Aleva stupidly just sitting back and watching the fire.
Option 2 is to believe that everybody was willing to cut 20 million in checks for buyouts and a new staff only to say "Never mind" when their first choice rejected them.
Option 3 is to believe that everybody, including some real heavy hitters were on board and Jimbo was ready to go, only to have King pull the rug out from under everybody. Additionally, Jimmy Sexton is choosing to stay quiet even though his client publicly got his balls cut off.
I know which of those 3 sounds most likely. You?

I disagree. I have no doubt there was something going on but again I also am aware of how fluid these things are and how perfectly everything has to line up for them to work out. I also figured FSU wouldn't let Jimbo go without a fight. That and the buyout made me skeptical. It would take a lot of money to buyout Miles contract and Jimbo's contract from FSU.
Just a lot of moving pieces so saying it wasn't going to happen wasn't operating under the assumption nothing was going on as much as being skeptical that it would all fall into place.
