I know for FACT DALSU was relaying info in good faith.......
Charles,
What did you hear fricked this up?

I disagree. I have no doubt there was something going on but again I also am aware of how fluid these things are and how perfectly everything has to line up for them to work out. I also figured FSU wouldn't let Jimbo go without a fight. That and the buyout made me skeptical. It would take a lot of money to buyout Miles contract and Jimbo's contract from FSU.
Just a lot of moving pieces so saying it wasn't going to happen wasn't operating under the assumption nothing was going on as much as being skeptical that it would all fall into place.

Although the very article linked in this thread has been updated, noting that Alexander nixed the deal on Wednesday of last week. Who knows what actually happened.
That was the same day that DALSU and Random LSU Hero came on here saying it was a done deal

No, which is why I didn't claim as much.
But I copied and pasted your exact words to Chicken.

I'm not trying to boom you, seriously. Just pointing out your words.

Well, your exact copied and pasted words say otherwise. Don't shoot the messenger.

Maybe they meant done deal on Miles staying?

All over a message board. Then in the news.
quote:now we're getting somewhere. care to backpedal any more?
I didn't say there was nothing in the works
quote:yet you continue to lug the narrative that it was all telephone game. which is it smarty pants? either it was all wrong or the "details" were wrong. get your overly skeptical story straight.
I said DALSU's specific details of the talks were BS

I am now of the opinion that a deal was never close and that this may have been nothing more than some rogue boosters stirring up shite and the media jumped on it,
That happened at Texas with Saban if you are to believe the reports about it.

So who were the coordinators and what source do you have?
My source(s) are deeply rooted in the athletic family. BUT, what I received did not go into intricate detail. I do know there was a desire to retain O for his dline talent and recruiting.

And that's fine. DALSU claimed much more than that.

You've basically said DALSU was a troll job that didn't know shite. That's the same as saying the info he provided was never in contention. Do I know if he was just a troll? Idk. Do I also understand that these things are fluid and when millions are on the line, anything can happen in the 11th hour? Yea. You're so adamant he was nothing but a troll, because Miles stayed. That's short-sighted as frick.

it did, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt as it was secondary to the fact Les was out.

I'm going to assume that you haven't bothered reading my posts. That's the only way you could have come up with the above quote.

Is anyone defending him for everything he said?
I think everyone would agree he went to far. You're trying to discredit everything he said though. He wasn't completely wrong.
What do you want done to DA? You seem overly obsessed with the situation.

quote:he absolutely could have done that. not at all unbelievable. it was also reported by someone that the boosters were not all in agreement on removing miles and therefore the money started wavering so, "technically" alexander may not have done it all by himself.
in no way did Alexander put his foot down and kill the deal
the point is, politics above alleva's head killed the deal and there is no reason da needs to eat crow. however, it would be nice for da to show up and clarify some things like the coordinators comments.
if you want to be mad at alleva for something, be upset that he caved when miles ran the arky bluff.

As opposed to everyone that is posting just as much as me defending him? Including yourself.
