The guy's a good coach. And LSU will be damn good every year he is our coach. I don't like to see the fans on this board saying we have a bad coach.

With that said, I think we are stagnant and can't get to Atlanta with Les as coach. But that doesn't make him bad or even average. He's a great coach.

I think you are contradicting yourself with that statement.

That's only half of the equation though, right? You still have to bring in someone who is better. Who is this man? Is this man available?

I think his time is coming to an end. This year, Alleva fricked it up, but probably will see a repeat next year.

He appears confused, the offense has serious problems and it's systematic. I'm not high on Steele as DC either, though the team played well last night.

Can you explain what qualities a "good coach" has.
And then describe the qualities that miles has, as they relate to a "good coaches"

Les is not a good head coach. He's a GREAT HC and yes he will do more than just get to Atlanta before he's done here.

Miles runs a great program, but don't think he's a great coach. Every year he seems more and more confused.

Define greatness the last 4 years as it relates to Les. If you can make a claim like that then you must have something to back it up. Please enlighten us.

2012 - loses 3 OL week of theFlorida game in the frenzied swamp. And if Minter doesn't catch the cramps replaced by Welter who knows how that one would've ended up. Took miles all of 1 week to get back on track. who can do that? And still a screen pass away from playing for it all. Loses an entire defense early to NFL.
2013 cam Cameron comes to town and takes all the credit for a 10-3 yr.
2014 same cam Cameron runs off all QBs leaving miles Jennings and a puppy named Harris and still manages an 8-5 yr. one of the absolute finest coaching jobs ever. Even had Bama beat with these 2 QB s and a 1 dimensional offense.
2015 expected 6th in west has LSU ranked 2nd in country. Loses to the most complete college team that I've ever seen. 2006 longhorn team is in the discussion.
Fair to criticize the Arky game that was unacceptable Oklahoma losing to Texas this yr is as well.
Ole miss with Kelly and treadwell and the return of Tunsil along with all that first round Defensive talent was just too much to overcome with poor QB play.
Things are much better moving forward.

to be considered a good coach. you need to be able to develop quarterbacks. You also need to be able to change your gameplan when necessary

So he may not win much but he is a great coach?

What is your definition of great?

I will admit I am jealous of you. I absolutely cannot comprehend how this statement can be made in such earnest. The things you spoke of as supporting greatness are littered with excuses and even an outright admission of ineptness with Arky. Good for you though for being optimistic. Despite our differences we both want LSU to be successful and win championships

Someone that loses 2-3 conference games each year, with the most talent.

I don't deny that LSU and their current head coach has underperformed miserably.

If we don't continually have top 5 recruits I would understand the performance. Although it was completely botched, LSU admins and boosters saw what I saw and went out to fix the issue and swung and missed HORRIBLY. We agree to disagree, but Miles is not much longer as LSU's head coach and that is the silver lining for me. If we win in spite of him I'll be ecstatic so don't paint me as an LSU hater. Kids showed some emotion and heart last night for a coach they assumed, and was at the time, coaching his last game as LSU. That was great to see unfold
