No, just no, who thought this movie needed a reboot?

This is like the dozenth thread with this exact OP since this movie was announced.

I keep expecting something new to come out, but every time its someone questioning why there is a reboot.

I just saw the trailer, and I actually didn't hate it. Might be a good guilty pleasure watch like Crank.

The trailer looked pretty good, actually. Not sure why that movie is sacred. It was good for its time, but because of Swayze.

The trailer suggests they're just loosely using the plot from the original as a vehicle for a bunch of stunts and scenery. Which actually looks kind of cool to me.

Because Hollywood doesn't give two fricks about your moral "no reboot" high ground. They care about all the revenue they can generate from the retread formula. Much less effort than having to come up with an original story. Most who go see it (Millennials) will never compare it against the original and the one's that do will not make the comparison a requirement of spending their money.

Not sure if it will be in the theater/on demand/HBO

But I will see this movie. Loved point break growing up.
