This is LSU Football. Who was Nick Saban before LSU? Who the frick was Les Miles before LSU?

I'm sick of hearing people say we're gonna get what we ask for. If we hire a pretty good coach that can recruit, LSU will make him too. It won't be hard to upgrade from Les IMO.

I agree, It shouldn't be. But you never know. If things fall through with the top choice or two, could be rough.
It's the unknown that is scary.

Hell even Gerry Dinardo had a few good years. Curly Hallman is pretty much the outlier. Just don't be a total frick up.

Nick Saban coached in the NFL before coming to LSU under Bellichek so I think it's a little arrogant to say we made him.

Les also worked as the top recruiter at Colorado when they were dominant.

We're not God's gift to football, but we're pretty good. If you think a nobody can walk in here and win then you're in for disappointment if Alleva doesn't nail this hire

it's so true

miles was an average coach coming into LSU.. LSU was established with talent.. miles is not some irreplaceable mastermind or even has some great niche.. he has even had some really bad hires with coordinators over the times..

imagine what an actual good coach willing to make needed adjustments could do with the talent LSU receives..

at worst we stay on the same trend.. but at best the sky is the limit

we may only regret it didn't happen sooner. he is paid like a top coach, but not producing like one

Saban did build it, but he had the talent come in to build it. Why didn't he build Michigan St?

Yeah, and Tebow never once cried until he lost as a Florida Gator.

That's a big IF though. But I understand what you're getting at.

Gonna be harder than you think. There are at least 5 job openings at schools that any aspiring up and coming coach will gladly accept. So yes if we don't get Jimbo we may actually end up with sloppy seconds.

Good is relative. Gerry's good is getting Les fired.

Exactly...you can say Saban built us, Miles maintained....Gerry cock teased us.

That should be on a statue one day...word for word.

We really can't with the resources we have now and the money we invest in the program that we didn't when Joe Dean was AD. The 90s basically can't happen again outside us getting the death penalty

Breh, it is the known that is scary.

Love me some CLM as a recruiter and an all around human being. But he does little to nothing to develop the talent he recruits.
