If Les stays, we'll have to extend him

At least three years IMO.
Because with all that's transpired, there would need to be a strong vote of confidence from the AD to prevent the loss of blue-chip recruits. Otherwise we will look like a three-ring circus with a coach hanging on by a thread. If I was a recruit and I was getting good advice, I'd want no part of that.
So if Les stays, simply saying "you get a year to prove yourself" is not enough.

They'd have to do something ridiculous, like double his already ridiculous buyout.
Which, at this point..frick it. Show Alleva the door, let Miles play out the last few years of his career and start over in a better situation. Because at this point it's becoming increasingly evident that the AD put himself in a situation he wasn't equipped to handle.

quote:He's under contract for longer than 3 years now. You want to extend him to 2022 because of the 2016 recruiting class that will all be gone by 2019/2020?

I don't think so. I think Les retires at the end of 2019, no matter what.
Before a month ago, he kind of figured he would break Mac's win record in late 2018 or early 2019.
It could have been a positive transition. Now it will be a negative one because we have a brutally incompetent athletic director (and he may be a fine money guy, but he is HORRIFIC with personnel and in a crisis).
