Envisioning: LSU with Miles returning in 2016

Personal Investment: For me, I start with season tickets. I really do not enjoy the product as much as the cost and travel/parking hassles. I have a want to enjoy it again. A lifetime-love-of-the-Tigers want. With Coach Miles, it is just too frustrating. Sure, posi-homers, little kids and people who know nothing about the game are just fine, but I don't fall into those categories.
Bama: Saban has lots of seniors, but he will do what he is postured to do - re-load.
QB: I am thoroughly convinced Cam cannot fix Harris. And I have far less hope for Jennings. I am very concerned about a new coach being brought in as OC trying to do so. With a Sr and Jr qb returning, Miles will not give anyone else the reigns. That is probably why Franks used the chaos as a chance to bail to somewhere where he will get an instant chance. Miles has mis-managed the Qb recruiting and coaching for years, and what reasonable hopes do we have that next year will be different? Will they brain wash Harris to not throw darts doe short and intermediate passes? I jumped high when Neuheisel stated what I was thinking forever. Miles recruits the exact wrong guys for his chosen offense. He fell into luck with Flynn and Mettenberger. Russell was also an inheritance. Insanity, Who the hell cannot see this as a long-term issue?
Defense: The Dline is just not special. Our starters would only be quality depth on the '03, '07 or '11 teams. Yeah, yeah, on Valentine, Bain and LMAO. They're gone. We need numerous guys to arrive and contribute immediately. Will Coach O even be here? The communication issues in the defensive backfield are horrible. Will we have a new DC for the 2016 season for the second year in a row? Can Steele magically do better in this area?
Team Discipline: What magic pill is going to get Miles to think fast under pressure? What procedure will be performed on him to get him to be disciplined with the team? After years of coming out of timeouts unprepared, why is this all of a sudden going to drastically improve?
Recruiting: If you think the wheels are coming off now with key recruits, imagine what will happen if it is announced that Miles is coming back for a one-year trial run. Get real, people. That is a disaster waiting to happen far worse than him not coming back.
PR/Media: Screw em. I do not respect the media. They are poor and shallow thinkers with their own agendas. They don't have season tickets, nor do they deal with the traffic, long drives to/from BR and the parking nighmares. They do not love the Tigers for decades. Again, screw them.
Miles's record: Again, people are too willing to look too far back and cluster it all into one accolade. They seem completely unable to process trends. A losing record over a 3 year in the SEC West seems beyond their ability to comprehend. They seem completely unable to see the distinction between "losing 3 games in a row" and "looking like shite for 3 games in a row". Screw stupid people and homers.
Fan expectations: Louisiana has the best talent per capita all to itself. Mississippi and South Carolina and Maryland/DC are roughly on par, but Maryland is hardly postured to take advantage of it, and Miss and S Car have multiple schools to share the talent amongst. USC-west and LSU are the two best postured schools in all of college football when it comes to recruiting in their geographical area. Southern Cal has 26 million people in their area, and even with UCLA is on par with LSU. LSU is the best postured school in all of college football. So is it fair for us to expect not to get pummeled by an unranked Ar-Kansas team? is it right to expect to do better than Ole Miss? Is it right to expect not to have a losing record over the last 3 years in the SEC-West? Is it ok to go into 2016 with an expectation of more of the same excuses and hard-headedness, or to expect a chance and hope?
Be careful what you ask for: We are asking for someone else. We don't need case studies on what has happened elsewhere. If we had the same "brand power" as we had a decade or two ago, you might have a point. However, find me one Big Five coach who silently does not think they can do better with the talent LSU has to work with. News bulletin: We are not going back to the Pre-2000 era when we were not on tv for almost every game of every season. We know the chances we are taking. We are willing to take the chance. Miles is a wonderful man. He is in over his head at this stage of the game. We don't want that brand of football coaching anymore.
Treatment of Coach Miles: While many are completely frustrated with his style of coaching, I do not know any one who wishes him ill. Most people, myself included, would love to hang out and party with him. Most people think he is a man of integrity. The problem is his capability and philosophy and hard-headedness. The problem is the product he is putting on the field. I'd love it if these were not major issues. But they are major issues. Again, unlike the pundits, we pour our heart and souls into our Tigers. They are our Tigers, not Coach Miles' Tigers. He does not own them, but he is the has the most influence of any person on the planet concerning our Tigers. He gets paid a huge amount of money for this coaching. No one is asking for a single dollar back from him. We all either like him or love him as a person. We are not mistreating him. He created the product we are displeased with. Again, we don't need storybook time about the 2007 season. We don't need to ignore the strongly negative trends. We only have a want for him to he happy, but not to be the coach of our lifetime passion. He has the keys to our happiness as Tiger fans. We have a want for someone else to have the keys now.
Screw the media. Many of these "experts" are out of touch with being a "typical fan", or incapable of processing information clearly available in this high tech world of information overload. Some of them are just taking provocative positions to make their bosses happy with the attention they generate.
2016: will we win the West? Probably a 1 in 7 shot. That is not worth the risk. It would put us right back where we are. Its time to cut bait and move on. The pond is not biting.
I have seen this film. I don't like it. I have a want for Coach to be happy and to have a great life. He is a quality man. His era needs to be over. We are too far down the road to revisit it now. Good luck coach.

How much time did you waste typing all this?

Solid post! I agree with almost everything you say. And you said quite a bit.

Pretty solid collection of thoughts. Can't say I disagree with any of it. Especially with wishing Les well. He really is a great person.
I hate this. I don't see us doing well if he stays. It's gonna be ugly if he's let go. Either way it just sucks.

Once again we have championship talent and will lose to bama and. No championship.

Wholly apart from the likelihood of improvement, it's difficult to imagine Miles wanting a job where the AD and the powers behind the football program have already cut him off at the knees and stabbed him in the back. Questioning whether he has outlived his value is one thing, and totally valid. Doing it 8 the smarmy, amateurish way they have is unfair to Miles and embarrassing to LSU. I sincerely hope he enjoys what's left of his $15 million after the IRS is done with it.

Spurred stepped down for the same reasons.
