I don't think lsu is going to fire a coach who has won championships to hire a coordinator

Regardless of all of Les's faults and shortcomings, there's no way you replace a guy with his track record with a guy who's never been a HC at any level

LSU needs an offensive guy that can recruit and manage QB's.

I have said it in several threads, if Kirby was such a great coach, Bama would have stepped up and made him coach in waiting.

An Alabama defensive coordinator, hired to take down the current head coach of Alabama, widely considered the best coach in college football.

... has LSU ever tried anything like that before?

I don't see his big 3-4 defenses hanging around as a head coach with the way zone read and spread offenses torch him.

And another that can coach defense and special teams.

Same reason Jimbo wasn't made HC when $aban left-no HC experience.

burning 15mil on a buying to hire an unproven candidate is not a good idea.

if you're burning that much money to hire someone else, it's got to be big.

Don't want another Saban DC. Too much like Muschamp.

Saban really runs the D. Bamas DC is little more than his assistant.

Well, so far no outstanding "realistic" hire has been put out there. Even these "proven" HC's haven't coached as an HC in the SEC, much less the SEC west

Don't think we're paying $15+ million toget rid of a coach, to hire a coordinator.
