The case for Gary Patterson

I know the "G2" indicates he and his family have it super cozy in Ft Worth. They may in fact enjoy the city, the University support/relationships and the football program.
However, ask yourself what YOU would be thinking if you were a high-achiever like Patterson.
He may just conclude that his window to do something special at TCU is over. UT still sucks, but that will not last forever. OU is back. Baylor seems to have found a long-term posture of being strong. Okla State is usually a strong contender.
Then, think how the hard-headed Big-12 is not moving to a conference championship, leaving it hard for any program not named OU or UT to have a legit change unless they go undefeated.
To me, he would be the perfect fit to replace Miles.
We can match the money, but I think what would matter most to Gary is to have the keys to a truly big time program, and the chance to match wits with the coach everyone considers the best (Saban).
I think he may be our guy.
I'd be thrilled.

GP is 55, so not a real long-term answer.
Has been TCU HC for 15 yrs.
I'd be OK with him, just don't think he'd leave this area. Has a big ranch & is in to horses.

I'd take Gary Patterson or Art Briles. Both have overachieved with less talent. You could make the same case for Briles' situation at Baylor. Do either have the roster to win 2 games in a final 4?

I believe that Gary Patterson has the choice between taking a risk by shooting for the moon at a big nme school or go the route of Beamer at VA Tech.

Gary Patterson can stay his sweaty arse in DFW as far as I'm concerned.

Patterson wouldn't last 4-5 years in BR.

I bet you his salary you can't tell me what he makes.
He loves TCU and has not interest in leaving

He will be buried at TCU. He's been there 15yrs, he makes as much if not more than Miles and has only been relevant for 6yrs. He can go 8-4 for 5 years before anyone would notice they have a football team.
