Any advice on roads to avoid or what the difficult stretches of road will be?

Done it. It's all interstate. Don't text and drive. You'll be good.

its a long drive. just use google maps and waze to avoid heavy traffic.

On a drive that long, traffic for an hour isnt that big of a deal imo

All I know is there is a stretch of I-75 between Lake City and Orlando that makes me want to punch babies.

I wish, I'm actually going to visit family and seeing as it's about a 14 hour drive, I figured it wasn't TOO bad.

Snow birds..... especially this time of year.

It's 3 lanes for a large chunck of the stretch and the old people fleeing the north driving their Buicks and minivans 10mph under the speed limit in all 3 lanes will test your will.

Done it to many times to count, but I stop about an hour north of Miami. To me, the drive across I-10 in Florida is the worst part. Come south on the turnpike, do not go all the way to I-95. It will cost you to come down the turnpike. You may want to stop and pick up a cheap toll tag.

I-75 doesn't go anywhere near Orlando. Maybe you meant Tampa.

Anyway, there are no secrets to traffic save for use Waze to help avoid snarls. It's pretty good at that.

Turn on Sirius and listen to Vivid radio (or Out Q if that's your thing) and rub one out somewhere between Gainesville and Orlando. That will give you something to look forward to.

Did it a couple years ago, stopped somewhere for a snooze for a couple hours. Aren't there a lot of tolls, though? My memories not doing too good right now.

My advice is to drive to MSY go to the American Airlines counter and buy a ticket for the direct flight to Miami.
