Something easily overlooked that's important: Joe Alleva knows football.

Here's a great interview about Alleva regarding his time playing football and how it's impacted his life and career. Just ignore the cheesy hashtag under the title because it's surprisingly a good read

I just found it interesting that a guy much more knowledgeable about football than the majority of fans and has much more details on Les Miles behind the scenes thinks it's clear LSU needs to go in a different direction. Also it's encouraging he made Duke's best football hire since Spurrier in the 80's

Playing football doesn't make you a genius, should we take advice from the cajun cannon?

He's a spineless AD who doesn't have the balls to stand up and stop this shite show.
Whether you like Miles or not is not relevant. He is an adult who has given his best to this university and to this community and if you are in the market to replace him than he should not be hanging out to dry like he is.
frick Joe Alleva - and this is coming from someone who has met the man and until this somewhat respected the man.

He was a college quarterback, a grad assistant in football, and has an MBA from Lehigh. Pretty evident the guy is much smarter than your typical fan gives him credit for.
If anything his football background should be really telling that we should go in a new direction, because he has the most intel on what's really going on and knows the game well.

Nah dude. He's done nothing good at LSU. He needs to be fired because the rant says so.

He knows the game very well, possesses a lot more intel on the program's state, and he has an MBA from Lehigh. I'll safely assume he has more knowledge about what's best for the program than 95% of our fans that both support and dislike Les.

How do you "hang someone out to dry" that has a 15 MILLION dollar buyout?

By not talking about it and addressing the rumors especially in sports. THAT is how.

I'm not sure why you refuse to give him any credit for making the best hire at DUKE of all schools in probably school history. Spurrier is a better coach, but Cut will stay at Duke until retirement, making a bigger impact.
But okay, he deserves zero credit for that

He's said again and again that he will address it after the season.
Either someone on the BOS or a booster is leaking shite to the media, or the media just completely ran with it on their own.
Either way, what do you want him to do? Come out and support Les? Then all you fools will want to hang him.
Should he come out and fire Les now? Yeah, that wouldn't be a shite show.
He's going to wait until the end of the season and then the decision will be made or announced. Yes, I'm sure he and the board already have a good idea of what that decision will be, but he owes it to Miles to let him finish the season. Firing a dude before the last game (even if you let him coach the last game) is a lot more embarrassing then whatever Les is going through right now.
Les is a coach. He puts on the blinders and does his job. I think he can handle it.

i think the tipping point for Alleva and Les' relationship was when Les politely held the program hostage for $$ when Arkansas of all programs offered him 5 million. For what we've done for Les miles, he should have never done that to the AD and fans.

I love the intelligent way he handled the lacrosse players situation. Don't you?
