If anything his football background should be really telling that we should go in a new direction, because he has the most intel on what's really going on and knows the game well.

A couple of years ago his football background told him Miles was seriously considering bolting to Arkansas and he should give him a raise and lock him up for 7 freaking years.

That still doesn't answer the question. What did miles do wrong in that situation that no hard working person would do?

Whether it was wrong or not he lost his grace period that he had earned with wins ( performance )

Every employee earns tenure so to speak with their boss / employer and the opportunity to make certain mistakes while still making great effort and getting a grace period . Every employee also gets so many times to walk in and say hey this guy will pay me more. At some point the employer says hey wait a minute I don't mind working with you but dang can we just cut a deal you are happy with and quit dancing with everyone that calls you just to extort me. I want someone that says hey I got a call but boss I am with you. The point the national media and others want to say is it is ok for the employee to do that but not the employer. ..... Business is a two way street and if an employee keeps holding you hostage. Then guess what happens ..... You lose your grace period. Or if the shinier potential employee shows up........ Bingo

Not you nor I have any idea how that unfolded. Les wanted to unjustifiably break the bank (post Clemson 2012, really Les?) for a divisional rival that has a lower ceiling than us. Miles might have cared that much more about money than his time at LSU, who knows?

When an organization has been great to you and lined your pockets, you don't threaten to bail when it wasn't even appropriate.

I'm just in disbelief you guys aren't even a little mad Les Miles actually did that. That wasn't the tone when Chavis walked out on us to a divisional rival.

All indications are that he has or is close. He would definitely be in Line with Emmert , Gill and Carl Maddox for that statue.

Roof?

This x 1000!

You're trusting the guy whose three football hires include Carl Franks, Ted Roof, and a guy Ole Miss fired?

I get you guys are suffering from Les Fatigue, but come on.

What makes the LSU job any different from Miami and USCw jobs? All three are attractive gigs. Would Jimbo really leave FSU?

We have a high probability of getting the hire wrong. ESPECIALLY with Alleva at the helm.

The raise was agreed upon before the Clemson game and was his first raise since after the 2007 national championship. He deserved it at the time.

I agree that I the time the raise was deserved, but that $15 million dollar buyout was stupid then and is even more so today.

You do understand the success rate for finding a good coach at Duke isn't exactly the same situation at LSU, right?

It'd be one thing if we went 1/3 hiring a Duke basketball coach, but he hired the most successful coach in school history. What the frick is wrong with you people

He's a spineless AD who doesn't have the balls to stand up and stop this shite show. Whether you like Miles or not is not relevant. He is an adult who has given his best to this university and to this community and if you are in the market to replace him than he should not be hanging out to dry like he is. frick Joe Alleva - and this is coming from someone who has met the man and until this somewhat respected the man.

1. Are you mentally handicapped?
2. Hanging out to dry? The regular season is over saturday night. Waiting until after the season is over to evaluate your coach and make a decision is the right move. It gives the winningest coach in LSU history the opportunity to coach his seniors in their last home game and Miles as HC gives us the best to beat A&M. Waiting until sunday or monday to sit down with Miles and make a decision is not dragging it out. Waiting until after the bowl game would be dragging it out, but not after sat's game.
3. Just because an internet message board is going nuts does not mean the administrators and the ones who actually make the decisions are.
4. Your post is shittier than a dumpster behind a daycare center on trash day.

You Joe's nephew or side piece? He could of told Les to kick rocks just as he did Chavis if he knew it was such a bad deal. Joe is why we have to pay out 15 mil, I don't blame Les for ensuring his retirement fund.

Oh, I forgot that sweet innocent les was just conducting business by threatening to leave us for little Arkansas.

Also the case details revealed Chavis was actually offered a 1.8 million counter by LSU. He was just tired of Les.
