Outsider opinions don't matter.

People like finebaum and kornholer have their opinions about the way les miles is wanted out, but here are the main talking points I hear:
1) But Les Miles won a national championship and he has one of the highest winning percentages
2) Les Miles is an unbelievable recruiter
3) LSU was #2 a little over 2 weeks ago and now that they've lost 3 games in a row and the fanbase is overreacting
To answer to this, Les Miles' win percentage is falling and will continue to fall. He won a national title in 2007. If Les is such a good recruiter than why is our defense so depleted and our offensive line getting pummeled. And rankings don't mean a damn thing. If I get to #1 by beating up cupcakes and then fall out of the top 25 playing the meat of my schedule then that ranking meant frick all.
The problem with national talking heads is they don't know what's really going on because they don't get the whole picture. They aren't fans of LSU and they don't watch even 5% of all plays total that LSU has in a year.
For years, this is what actual fans have seen:
1) obscene amounts of holding, false start, and delay of game penalties
2) the most ineffective pro style offensive performance to talent ratio you'll see anywhere
3) clock management blunders galore
4) awful assistant coach hires that not only fail, but get rehired (Peveto)
5) teams that get progressively worse as the year goes on (this trend largely started in 2012)
6) the inability to put teams away
I can go on and on. The bottom line is that talking heads are just not qualified because they don't keep up with the program closely. All they do is read from a stat sheet and act like someone's performance can't possibly change over time.

Hard to dispute those six bullets.

A counter argument to yours is that considering this list of criticisms, many lsu fans have zero perspective of any other college team and disregard similar issues across the college football landscape acting like these things just happen at lsu

Well your opinion doesn't matter either yet that doesn't stop you from typing a manifest.

I been saying this, outsiders opinions are completely irrelevant

This sir, is spot on. Couldn't be more right. Here is an upvote for you.

Interesting because I've read numerous posts from people saying that everyone outside of lsu laughs at Les Miles and they use that to support getting rid of him but as soon as their narrative changes "their opinions don't matter"

Perception of your institution does

That list was pretty specific to LSU and all completely accurate.
An outsider who actually watches a lot of CFB would see all of what's on that list play out with our team regularly.
What other school with a $4M a year coach suffers from those things all the time?

Unbelievable recruiter that can't win with the talent he has brought in the last four years.

Can't win against 'Bama seems to be the main issue. And that is because 'Bama recruits, signs better AND more 5-star players. That is LSU's main problem. Less has the run of 3-4 star recruits especially in Louisiana. Its the lack of 5-stars that is killing him.

Bama signs more 5 star recruits and coaches them infinitely better than Miles coaches his players.
(and 99% of the other programs in America)

Maybe it got lost in what I was trying to say, but the main idea is that these analysts love to point to characteristics of Miles that used to be relevant but haven't been the last few years.
Part of it is that les is a very likeable guy. You saw how Hugh Freeze and his daughter talked to him after the game this weekend.

Spot on. Frick what anybody else says, what you pointed out is the truth. The media loves to hype this stuff up and get the whole country interested (i.e. by making irrational assumptions about LSU's fan base). I hate ESPN.

That is true. So no matter WHO LSU brings in,(doesn't matter when), as long as Saban keeps winning, LSU is screwed. It will continue to be the same ol', same ol'

The recruiting has been poor on the lines for the last several years.
Your points are correct and embarrassing as a fan. Alabama wouldn't hire Miles if he went there for free if Saban leaves!! There has never been a serious threat from any team wanting our coach, including his alma mater.
