Private school? Thought Cuse was a New York's state school.

No. Syracuse is a very expensive private school. SUNY is the New York state school system.

I wonder if Ed knows how cold it gets up there in the winter

Good luck to him if that's what he wants to do

I bet he does considering he coached the DL at Syracuse in the mid 90s.

Here's the clue:

They should hire him IMO. It sounded like he had really turned a corner when he was at SC as far as learning from his Ole Miss experience. And he could end up recruiting the NJ area really well

Sounds like he's campaigning pretty hard for the job reading that entire article

at the rantards who think this has anything to do with the head coach fiasco at LSU. Why wouldn't the guy look for a HC opportunity regardless?

No emote can convey how horrifying that is.

[--> <--] I guess that comes close?

I'd jokingly claim that Kyle Flood has things locked down, but that would be so beyond absurd that it wouldn't even be funny.

How many years is Orgerons contract with LSU? 2 years? Is he connected with Les Miles' contract?

I've said lsu needs to hire coach 0 to a 2.0-2.5 million dollar 2-3 Year contract, if it don't work it's not alor of money, but we all know the recruits will be there for the next coach

Thinking that he is bailing because he may have legit HC offers is ridiculous. He would leave for a gig like that if we were still in the playoff hunt. Miles' situation makes NO difference. In fact, an incoming coach would likely consider him for DC to keep his recruiting ties on-board. Miles leaving could very well lead to a promotion.

He's still a high risk-high reward hire for a Power 5 program, even one that's down. His interim tenure at USC still hasn't shown if he can MANAGE a program. Ole Miss was a disorganized mess under his leadership. The upside is that his in-game management looked much better at USC, and he's always been a great DL coach and recruiter.

If this offer doesn't pan out and he is still antsy, I wouldn't mind at all if Steele was shown the door and O was promoted to DC. To me, that is a more realistic risk than making him a head coach, especially at LSU.

Great opportunity for him. I hope he gets it. The "jumping off a burning ship" people are just dumb. It is a chance to be HC of a once very proud D1 school. Ed would do well there and I hope he gets it.
