There's a lot of research that would argue it's just a matter of time before they do commit a crime or already have but just haven't been caught.

You start out at the top of a mountain, and you have pretty good gear and good boots. And you walk around exploring what you like. But you can't come back.
So now you slide just a little firther into deviant behavior.
Until you're doing things that make mikelbr stop and say... "Well that isn't very sanitary"
Now if you're smart, you don't fall into a cesspool at the bottom...some people aren't that smart.
