It ain't philosophy, it's execution

There is nothing inherently wrong with Les' philosophy. The problem is he is lackadaisical in execution.
You see it throughout his history. The "Clock-it" game, repeated time management issues, false start and delay of game penalties... the list goes on.
With Miles' offensive philosophy, the execution has to be spot on. He's not trying to trick anybody, he's just looking to beat them. Look at the number of missed opportunities in the Bama and hogs games. If executed correctly, LSU is right in the hunt to "finish first" in both of those.
And by the way, that doesn't make it a player problem. The coaches are responsible for getting the players ready to execute. They won't do it every time but what we see at LSU is a trend of poor execution, not outliers.

So he keeps recruiting players that can't "execute" this pretty basic gameplan?

Les' philosophy lends itself to a lack of execution.

when you face physical fronts with our offense you struggle. Just because we can dominate weak dlines early in the year doesn't mean our execution has gotten worse when we play bama, ark, ole miss...it means their players aren't as easy to block...because they are better.

We should have the Les Miles game plan down to a T by now. No excuse.

His philosophy absolutely is a large part of the problem.

Doesn't matter if we are playing a Pee Wee team or Bama, Les will keep hammering his head into a brick wall thinking the result will be different. We are like the big goofy strong kid everybody laughs at and makes fun of but people know if they ever got really serious and pissed they'd be in trouble.

It comes down to OL and DL recruiting.

COACHES ARE ULTIMATELY RESPONSIBLE

Think less, post less, breathe less
If it is lack of execution, that means the players are not being coached correctly, so we are back to poor coaching.

It's both.
And I also suspect by the evidence that Les wants to be viewed as the nicest man who ever walked the sidelines... which has resulted in obvious discipline problems on the field.

Did you watch the Arkansas game? My problem isn't with him stubbornly running the ball, it's that no matter what type of offense he tries to throw out there, it's basically total garbage. Horrid execution, no fluidity, mass confusion and we never seem to want to put our best athletes in position to succeed. Enough is enough.

Maybe the players don't know what he wants because they can't understand all of that convoluted gibberish that comes out when he speaks.
Offensive team "so coach, when the clocks running down and we're out of timeouts, you want us to clock it?"
Miles "i expect us to achieve our goal of not being second and have the ability to have the want the outcome we've selected. Being able to reach those goals and having said want, it would 'be beneficial, but not necessarily a must, for the clock not to expire and a chance for young men to lead and overcome the adversity of the situation"

Exactly, he and his staff have no plans of attack. They're going to run their same offense and dare people to stop them. That's just lazy and unfair to the players. Trust me, if the defense knows what's coming, they're going to stop it. Unless they're physically unable to which is about 80% of the teams we play. You have to adapt your game plan for the other 20%. Stubborn Les does not believe this.

Good point.
"The desire to get back on track is a sincere feeling in this program."
I mean, who talks like that?

That fine line between genius and madness.

You don't read well. You are good at being an a-hole, though, so there's always that.

don't know how you can say this with a straight face. His philosophy, at least on offense, is absolutely a big part of the problem.
