Alleva is a guy in a damn if you do or damn if you don't position.
Also if Alleva is under the impression he has to make a move it's not because he wants to be a dick it's because the fans are begging him to do it once a month.

blame here...falls on Alleva for running Chavis off
But Miles fans told me that Chavis is to blame for the 2013 losses. Miles fans told me that Chavis is to blame for losing to Alabama in 2014.
If Chavis is costing us game, seems to me that Alleva is doing a good job by not being dictated to by a coordinator.

Mmhmm.
If Miles' biggest strength as a coach is his ability to recruit AND the front seven on defense is both undersized and thin depth-wise both now and next year, who is primarily to blame?

Guilbeau is a contrarian, all he does is get the temperature of the fan base and then Write the opposite so that he increase the clicks.

Our front 7 would still be weak
If Chavis was still here then that would mean Brick was still here probably. Since they left, it allowed Coach O to come in and spark life into our defensive line and above all else recruit where Chavis and Brick definitely fell short on. Aside from the Steele hire, I'm happy with the direction our D line is headed these next few years with coach O recruiting for us.

Les is gonna get fired because of his stubborn hard headedness to adapt. He's a good coach but he is not a big time coach and what I mean by that is he worries and hopes for the best instead of expecting it. No accountability

Not really dumbass. The LBs are our thinnest unit on the field, no?
who was the supposed LB guru? Who mis evaluated so horribly on Kenny Young?
Look how thin some of our last few classes were along the front 7. If your D is basically entirely predicated on having an elite front 7 then it's pretty damn inexcusable to have a class or two that contains so few.
There is nothing overly complicated about Chavis' schemes or game plans, it was mainly about the talent on the field. Is it fair he wasn't putting in any of the work to secure the athletes necessary to make his D effective ?

Well it's kind of true. Chavis is a good coach but a lazy recruiter. Obviously recruiting, in the end, falls on Les, but assistants need to carry some load.

Most people understand that the at major programs like LSU, the big boosters are the ones that push the buttons in hiring the head football coach
I agree with that.
If Alleva makes the move, it will largely be because he's got boosters in his ear clamoring for him to make the move.

If he indeed did drive a wedge between Les and Chavis, that's really, really bad, but excuse me for being hesitant to unconditionally believe everything the hack to end all hacks, Guilbeau, says
It will be interesting to see if Rabalais or Dellenger have to say on that matter, if anything.
Guilbeau may be a hack but I'm glad somebody in the media is asking questions about Alleva.
To put things in perspective, Skip knew what was on the line during the last coaching search:
quote:
Bertman’s legacy was on the line.
Those 870 wins, seven Southeastern Conference championships and five national titles as LSU’s baseball coach mattered little in the winter of 2004.
“We had conversations with him,” Ausberry said. “ ‘Skip, this is career-killer stuff for us.’ It got to the point where we said, ‘All the championships you’ve won, all of the games, all of that goes down the drain if you don’t hire the right one.”
Les Miles was always the one, Bertman said.

I like contrarians.
They cause people to step outside of their echo chambers and explore the other side of the argument.
Or they just troll the masses.
Or both.

What is Alleva's background?
Posted on 11/18/15 at 6:02 pm to lsu2006
All of the assistants started 2015 on two year contracts. Those contracts expire at the end of the 2016 season
If LSU were to fire Miles after this season, they would owe him about $2m a year for eight years. Pretty manageable. The problem is that they would still have to pay this current staff about $6m and then also pay a new staff next year. Not as manageable
This was why Chavis' insistence on a three year extension was so problematic. Alleva and the powers that be gave Miles a two year window to get things fixed and they were not going to pay Chavis not to be here in 2017. If Alleva didn't show up for a meeting with Miles and Chavis it was because he had already told Miles what the deal was.
Actually a pretty interesting strategy by Alleva, but it does almost guarantee Les one more year to right the ship (which I think he deserves)

If Aleva fires Les, he damn sure needs to have a huge hire waiting to step up and take the job. Replacing Les is not the type of change to you make and then start a search committee.

His winning percentage in a weaker conference is less that Miles and he has won No Championships.

Most of the assistants would likely land elsewhere, so we'd likely owe them the difference if any. That's pretty manageable

No.
Are we talking about Alleva?
Yes, he loved Trent, really thought he was a slam dunk hire
he just couldn't recruit here
