How would LSU or another SEC fanbase and its coaches handle a mizzou situation?

I'm curious as to whether or not SEC coaches have sat down with their superiors and teams and discussed this situation. We would be silly to think that a situation like the mizzou situation couldnt pop up at an SEC school, especially with our past history. How do you think Les Miles or another coach should address this situation? Imagine this happening at BAMA or Ole Miss -- the college football world would turn upside down.
I think coaches should have gone to the players and asked them to address there concerns. The coach needs to volunteer himself to the players and have open ears to them. Once he does that, take their issues to the president and his board. Here they can figure out a way to implement and broker the necessary changes needed to PREVENT this from happening at a lower level. The last thing we all need is another mizzou. I'm not talking about pandering to all the students-athletes concerns, but implementing necessary and appropriate institutions that will eventually benefit the whole student body. Nothing is lost from being more inclusive and attentive to the needs of your money generators. This, in my eyes, is the only way, in this current climate, to keep these situations at bay. The athletes now know they have more power than anyone on campus, and they are emboldened. It would benefit everyone if the LEADERS LED and took the initiative to advance their campus. There is nothing lost by being inclusive, unless you dont think these are partnerships (but you think they are power struggles).
This way, the president and coach look proactive, and we avoid the situation going on at mizzou. I would pray for this to not happen at the alma mater, but I could see it happening. We arent immune to the struggles the missouri students have noted.

LSU players have goals for the next level. They would play

If they had any respect for their coach they would play.

it would be handled with strong safety

What happens if their gripes are actually legitimate and worth not playing over? I would believe coach miles would respect his players well-being over a game being played.

They have an obligation to play. If the players respect their coach they would play. It's that simple.

But I'm sure there are many prospects on Mizzou's team as well. Sometimes there are causes true to a person that are more important to them than playing a game.

I had a guy connected to the situation tell me some inside stuff and there's much more to the situation than what people know. But it all comes back to money.
Here's what I was told fwiw.
Missouri loses Saturday night. After the game, there are several racially charged incidents between fans and players. The locker room turned very negative to the fan base and they decided to throw in with the grad student guy who they were friends with.
From what I was told, there was not much of a division in the locker room including Pinkle and everyone agreed to it. I know the story said there was division. IDK. Anyway, the players start striking.
The NCAA attorneys approach several institutions at Missouri and tell them they're free to forfeit the game Saturday but they advise them the forfeiture will cost the school north of 3 million. At that time the school decided they were going to get rid of Wolfe.

I don't know how LSU would handle it. I know the melt on the Rant and OT would be like a Bama loss times infinity.

Obligation to whom?
The university would also have an obligation to them to provide them with a safe working environment. Its a partnership, not servitude. This is obviously a hypothetical situation, but I really dont see why the mizzou players should have played if they really felt endangered.
No one can make them play, and they finally realized it. It would be a recruiting nightmare to carry on a game with out them, and a health hazard to the guys that did play.

I'm a huge college sports fan, but when sports start dictating terms to the academic institution, things are out of hand.

and every school across the country would have done the exact same thing. No way LSU or any other SEC school would have skipped out on a payday.

Interesting. Money always speaks and Football is the cash crop. Not surprised.
That racial incident sounds like something I could see going on at any LSU school.
Contrary to what many fans think, some of our players see themselves as people first and not football players. They comment on how they know their football playing status effectively shields them from some of the racial shite other students endure. Now that the floodgates are open, and players are emboldened, I worry because all it will take is a couple drunk fans, rantards, or SEC frat boys to ignite the flames. All it will take is one more slightly more offensive frat boy banner at a frat house, and then we will be caught up in this shite storm.
How do we stop this from going own? Im in a way, very glad that the banner came out before this missouri stuff became national news.

Bing fricking O .
I'd almost say it would be worth it.
In all seriousness do the players realize they are getting a free education?

IF any coach in the SEC has a ounce of sense they would approach their players and ask them about the environment around campus. That way the players feel comfortable talking to the coach or coaches about anything related to race issues on campus.
The fanbase would response would be similar, since most fans of college schools look at these kids as sources of entertainment.

There is a difference between a education and being educated.
Are we kidding ourselves when considering a General Education degree to be worth a damn. We wouldnt ever suggest our own kids major in such a useless major.

100% without a doubt I would give up season tickets and never attend another LSU game in my life.
LSU would never see another dime from me.
